Pathway to Adventure Council provides the nation’s foremost youth program for character development and values-based leadership training to more than 13,600 youth, from kindergarten through high school in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. Over 5,100 adult volunteers deliver Scouting’s impactful programs to help young people be “Prepared. For Life.®” Last year, local Scouts and adult volunteers provided 110,503 hours of community service valued at $3,514,000. Our programs include Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Exploring, Sea Scouts, Restoring the Village, Soccer in Scouting, and STEM in Scouting.
Cub Scouts: For grades K-5, Cub Scouts is a program where youth develop the foundations for leadership, citizenship, and personal fitness through fun activities. Activities include exploring the outdoors, service projects, making friends, and developing a love of learning!
Scouts BSA: For ages 11-17, Scouts BSA is where youth develop outdoor skills, self-confidence, and ethics through youth planned activities focused in service, community engagement, and leadership. Scouts earn merit badges and work towards Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout.
Exploring: For ages 10-20, Exploring connects youth with mentors, businesses, and agencies within their communities to help them discover career paths. Explorers step out of the classroom and into real-world environments to gain hands-on experience and learn more about career paths–like law enforcement, aviation, fire, and EMS.
STEM in Scouting: For grades 3-12, our STEM in Scouting program partners with leaders in STEM education and local schools to provide a fun and interactive program focused in science, technology, engineering, math, and arts. The program continues through middle and high school.
Restoring the Village (RTV): For ages 5-20, RTV is an initiative that extends Scouting access to underserved communities at no cost to families. Through partnerships between Scouting and community leaders, RTV gives youth the values, tools, opportunities, and mentors needed to build a brighter future.
Soccer in Scouting: For ages 5-18, Soccer in Scouting is a unique program that blends Scouting’s benefits with the fun of soccer. The families that connect to the Soccer in Scouting program come together to have fun, bond with their community, and offer their children new opportunities.
