Girls Outdoor Exploring

“G.O.” Girls Outdoor Junior Explorers Outdoor Adventure Program

Boy Scouts of America, Pathway to Adventure Council is starting a brand new program geared specifically for girls in 6th, 7th and 8th grades called G.O. (Girls Outdoor) Exploring. This program is being developed to give girls the opportunity to experience the outdoors, participate in adventures, develop their confidence and leadership skills, and make lasting friendships while learning new skills. A pilot unit has been in existence for nearly 3 years and has proven to be such a great success that 6 more units will be opened throughout the Chicagoland area.

Some of the activities that the group will participate in are overnight camping trips, horseback riding, canoeing, rock climbing, scuba diving, bike trips, cave exploring, wilderness hikes and engage in activities that “give back” to your community.

  • Do you have daughters in 6th, 7th or 8th grade?
  • Are you interested in learning more about this new program?
  • Do you have contact with your local middle school that could open the door for us to recruit?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, stay tuned for information on sign up nights.
